An example of the ruler is shown in the figure below: If you release your fingers, the ruler will remain at its location. If you put the start or end point near a waypoint or your current location, it will snap to it automatically. If you move your fingers around you can change the start and endpoint of the ruler. Immediately a ruler will be shown between the two fingers. Then add a second finger (possibly with your other hand). To show the map ruler, first press long on the map until the icon for waypoint creation appears. To measure distances and angles between two points in the main map screen you can use the map ruler. Thanks. Would it be possible to show the distance between markers so that if I place a marker, then the map indicates the distance to the previous one (say 8 km) rather than having to wait until the area is marked off, then fiddling the markers to get the area (and, therefore, the sides) right. It would be helpful to somehow conform the selection to a rectangle with right angle corners, rather than have to eyeball it. For instance, I want a map of 48 km^2 with axes of 8 km by 6 km. If I might make some suggestions, I would add the ability to force regular shapes.
